Presentation

Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that the eastern terminus of McKinley Street is platted as a
cul-de-sac. Continued development of Business Park 95 by the City of Ramsey requires
extending Radium Street north off of McKinley. That extension will occur at the location of the
cul-de-sac bulb and, therefore, a vacation of the bulb right-of-way is required. The City Council
took action in the Spring of 1998 to vacate the bulb on the eastern terminus of McKinley.
However, there was an error in the legal description and the ordinance could not be recorded at
the County. The City Attorney advised Staff to process the corrected ordinance through the
public hearing and adoption process.

Citizen Input

There was no public input

Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to close the
public hearing.

The public hearing closed at 7:59 p.m.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, Anderson,
and Zimmerman. Voting No: None.

Council Business

Mayor Gamec called the regular portion of the City Council meeting back to order at 7:59 p.m.

Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to introduce
an ordinance to vacate the McKinley Street cul-de-sac bulb.

Motion carried. As part of those discussions, it was determined at a neighborhood meeting held
on June 24, 1999, that a decision regarding the extension of Sunwood Drive to Highway #47
would be made by the City Council during a previous Council meeting, but due to a scheduling
conflict, this item was referred to the August 10, 1999 agenda.

City Council/August 10, 1999
Page 8 of 16 .
