Councilmember Zimmerman stated that in his opinion Council should not make a decision until <br />they receive a recommendation from Staff so that they know who they are hiring. <br /> <br />Councihnember Connolly questioned where the job was posted. <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Pruitt Hottinger replied the job was posted in the Star Tribune <br />and on the City's web page. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly questioned why the job was not posted in the Union. <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Pruitt Hottinger explained to save costs, but noted they will <br />make a policy to include the posting in the local paper. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he would be comfortable with allowing Staff to make a hiring decision. <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that she was comfortable with approving the hiring process. <br />Councilmember Zimmerman replied that the Council should know who the City is hiring. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly stated that she did not have a problem with the item going through the <br />Personnel Committee and being brought back to Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to table the <br />item until the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Connolly, <br />Anderson, and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: <br /> <br />Authorization to Engage Consulting Services for Local Information Services <br />Support <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Pruitt Hottinger stated that the City Council had been made <br />aware of the need for the local information services support in the past. The computer services <br />have been described as "Local Area Network Services", "Information Technology Services" and <br />"Computer Network Support" and "MIS". The City Administrator met with InfoTech of Arden <br />Hills who performs similar services for the Cities of Andover, Champlin and Vadnais Heights. <br />Staff has discussed with InfoTech a possibility of entering into an agreement. InfoTech would <br />provide local information services support for the City of Ramsey at a cost of $80.00 per hour. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen questioned what their standard rate is. <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Pruitt Hottinger replied that she does not know any further <br />information. <br /> <br />City Council/September 28, 1999 <br /> Page 22 of 30 <br /> <br /> <br />
