Mayor Gamec stated that the City gave the resident a date of October 15th to submit a plan and they have to give him that opportunity. Mr. Green questioned why he can't be forced to move the truck until the issue is resolved. The neighbors should not have to suffer. Case #10: Authorization to Terminate an Electrical Transmission Line Location Agreement with the City of Anoka City Attorney Goodrich stated that on July 13, 1999, Council authorized a TIF development agreement with Direct Enclosures for construction of a facility, which will be located in Energy Industrial Park. As part of the negotiations to initiate the project, the City of Ramsey would receive payment from the City of Anoka for the release of an electrical transmission line location agreement entered into on March 22, 1996. In order for the City of Ramsey to receive payment fi'om the City of Anoka, all parties involved in the original electrical transmission line location agreement would need to terminate the agreement of March 22, 1996. A termination agreement has been prepared and signed by the City of Anoka. Both the City of Ramsey and Connexus Energy will need to agree to the termination agreement. As was agreed upon through negotiations for the Direct Enclosures development project, the City of Ramsey will receive $43,984.14 as payment for the termination of the electrical transmission line location agreement. Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to authorize execution of a termination agreement of an electrical transmission line location agreement executed on March 22, 1996, and that the said payment be made on or before November 1, 1999. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Connolly, Anderson, and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. Case #11: Receive Hiring Recommendation for Public Works Maintenance Worker Position Administrative Services Manger Pruitt Hottinger stated with the resignation of Charles Cornelius in August 1999, a vacancy occurred in the full-time Public Works maintenance worker pool. On August 24, 1999, City Council authorized acceptance of the resignation of Mr. Cornelius. An advertisement was placed in the Star Tribune Newspaper on September 5th to recruit external candidates for the position. Five applications were received by the application deadline on September 17, 1999. Interviews were conducted on September 27t~'' and staff is proposing to perform second interviews on October 6th. If Council is comfortable, a motion could be made to authorize hiring the applicant as recommended by Staff after the second interviews are conducted. City Council/September 28, 1999 Page 21 of 30
