#1: Redevelopment Study <br /> <br /> City Administrator Norman stated that the City Council authorized a redevelopment study to <br /> identify industrial sites in the City. He disseminated a map showing such sites and talked about <br /> the districts and different types of them. <br /> <br /> MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Personnel Issues <br /> <br />'Community Development Director - Council asked Mr. Norman to meet with City Attorney <br />Goodrich and move quickly on rapid conclusion with current Community Development Director <br />Cindy Sherman - it is time to move on. <br /> <br /> Discussion ensued relating to the possibility of combining different positions (Community <br /> Development, Human Resources, etc.) -rewriting some job descriptions. <br /> <br />It was noted that former Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith may be in the <br />market for a new position and it was suggested that Council may be interested in discussing <br />possibly offering her a position. <br /> <br />2) Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />Council expressed concern about Brad Scheib of Hoisington Koegler not taking Council's <br />suggestions/directions and could Mr. Norman check to see if there is someone else Ramsey <br />could work with. <br /> <br />Mr. Norman asked Council to give him a week to talk with Brad and Brad's boss. <br /> <br />#5: Joint Meeting with Planning Commission <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that he would like to have Bill Hudson brought in to the joint <br />meeting with Council and the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT (Continued) <br /> <br />3) Grand Opening <br /> <br />Mr. Norman announced the grand opening of the Seniors Center will be at 12:00 noon, on <br />October 26, 1999. <br /> <br />4) Meeting with Bill Hudson <br /> <br />Mr. Norman announced that the City Council would have a team building session with Bill <br />Hudson at the Comfort Suites on October 13, beginning at 5:00 p.m. There will be another <br /> <br />Council Work Session - October 5, 1999 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
