<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that she was concerned that several weeks ago they wanted to <br />form some kind of architectural standards for Highway #10 and no standards have been put <br />together and the issue of utilities in the area has yet to be resolved. <br /> <br />Mr. Winkels stated that it would be very easy to tie the drainage pond into a regional pond in the <br />future. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson replied that the City is trying to approach storm water drainage on a <br />larger scale. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he thinks the plan gives Highway #10 a good start. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson inquired if the City is going to run into a problem with getting sewer <br />to the site. <br /> <br />City Administrator NOlman replied that the adjacent neighbor has already contacted him <br />questioning when he could connect to the City utilities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen questioned the importance of moving quickly with the project. <br /> <br />Mr. Winkels replied that they plan to start construction this winter because the business owner <br />currently has a space shortage. <br /> <br />Bob Diley, B&B Carpet, stated that his business has become very inefficient operating in their <br />current location and the lease for their warehouse space runs out on January 1,20001. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen questioned how many property owners will be affected by extending <br />the utilities and the current location of the utilities. <br /> <br />Mr. Winkels replied that the utilities are 800 feet to the east of the site and currently one <br />easement has been obtained and the other property owner has already requested sewer and water <br />to be connected on his property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the City will be paying for the utility project and then be <br />reimbursed by the property owners. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that the cost would be paid by the City and then be paid back <br />by assessment over five years. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that the property owner that owns the RV lot will probably <br />not want to connect to sewer and water. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that staff will be recommending to defer their cost. <br /> <br />City Council/December 21, 1999 <br />Page 6 of 15 <br />
