Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #01 -08 -312 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT #0568 RELATING TO A REQUEST FROM MILTON E. AND VIRGINIA L. GLASS FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO EXCEED SIGN SIZE RESTRICTIONS WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey received an application from Milton E Glass and Virginia L. Glass for a conditional use permit to exceed the sign size restrictions on the property legally described as follows: All that part of Lots 2 and 3, Auditor's Subdivision Number 34, according to the map or plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Anoka County, Minnesota, lying Northwesterly of the following described line: Beginning at a point in the Northeasterly line of State Highway No. 10 which point is 585 feet Northwesterly from the Southeasterly corner of said Lot 3, measured along the Northeasterly line of said State Highway No. 10; thence Northeasterly to a point in the southwest line of the right -of -way of the Great Northern Railway Company, which point is 490 feet Northwesterly from the Northeast corner of said Lot 3, measured along the Southwesterly line of said Railway right -of -way, thence Northwesterly along the Southwesterly line of said Railway right -of -way, 495 feet to the point of beginning of the line to be described; thence Southerly to a point in the Northeasterly line of State Highway No. 10, which point is 400 feet from the point of beginning, said line there terminating. ( "Subject Property ") NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA that the findings of fact relating to the request are determined to be as follows: 1. That Milton E. and Virginia L. Glass, hereinafter referred to as "Applicant," properly applied for a conditional use permit to exceed the 100 square foot per side sign size restriction by 80 square feet per side. 2. That the Applicant appeared before the Ramsey Planning Commission for a public hearing pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the City Code on August 7, 2001, and that said public hearing was properly advertised, and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated as a part of these findings by reference. 3. That the Subject Property is approximately 2.48 acres in size. 4. That the Subject Property and the parcels to the east, west, and south are zoned B -3 Highway Business and the property to the north is zoned BW, Business Warehouse.
