May Crack Seal <br /> June/July Pavement Striping <br /> July/August Pavement Rejuvenation <br /> As we continue with annual pavement maintenance projects,the ultimate goal is to not have overlapping projects <br /> in the same year,but this cannot be avoided in 2024. <br /> The proposed improvements are designated as City Improvement Project#24-08, 2024 Crack Seal Improvements. <br /> Notification: <br /> Advertisements were published in the Anoka Union Herald on January 26 and February 2, 2024. Bids were also <br /> advertised on-line on Quest CDN. <br /> Letters are not mailed to property owners for crack seal improvements due to the relatively minor impacts to <br /> property owners and the traveling public during these projects. Engineering Staff maintains a project webpage <br /> which will be updated with the most current project information. <br /> Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: <br /> Time Frame: <br /> Staff estimates up to 10 minutes will be required to present the case and answer questions. <br /> Alternatives: <br /> Alternative#1 —Motion to adopt Resolution#24-069 accepting bids and awarding contract for 2024 Crack Seal <br /> Improvements, Improvement Project#24-08. <br /> Alternative#2—Motion of other. <br /> Funding Source: <br /> Bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald on January 26 and February 2, 2024. On March 4, 2024 a total <br /> of five(5)bids were received, opened, and tabulated, and the following bids were found to comply with the <br /> advertisement for bids. <br /> Contractor Total Bid <br /> Northwest Asphalt&Maintenance $1281714.88 <br /> Two Brothers Paving $1461538.68 <br /> Allied Blacktop Company $256,300.24 <br /> Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $309,812.60 <br /> Fahrner Asphalt Sealers, L.L.C. 1$3301416.72 <br /> Engineer's Estimate $155,119.00 <br /> The bid of Northwest Asphalt&Maintenance of Thief River Falls,Minnesota, in the amount of$128,714.88 for <br /> the total bid for construction of said improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and <br /> advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder. Adding indirect costs in the amount of 5-percent brings <br /> the total project costs to $135,150.62. <br /> Per the final plans and specifications, estimated construction costs were $155,119.00. After adding 5-percent for <br /> indirect costs for administrative, engineering, finance and legal costs, estimated project costs totaled$162,874.95. <br /> The low bid is 17-percent lower than the engineer's estimate. <br /> City Staff proposes to administer and inspect construction. <br />
