Community Development Director Trudgeon indicated many of the duties regarding this type of
complaint have been transferred to Community Service Officers. This has proven to be more
effective, but there are still problem cases. Three or four years ago the Council considered
utilizing an administrative hearing process to expedite these cases. It was not approved at the
time, but the report could be reviewed again.

City Administrator Norman explained there was confusion by the Council at that time due to
another type of administrative hearing process that was also being debated, and the issue was
tabled. The administrative hearing process would likely be the most efficient way to deal with
these cases.

The consensus of the Council was to include the topic of debris and nuisance complaints,
including a review of the report on an administrative hearing process to handle these complaints.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried.

The regular meeting of the City Council adjourned at 8:55 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

inistrator

Jo//Ann M.
