City streets identified for spray patching in 2024 have few to no deep potholes that require hand patching before spray patching operations commence. Below is a summary of the spray patching process; •City will sweep streets first. •Contractor will blow debris and water out of shallow potholes using compressed air. •Contractor will spray patch all shallow potholes and cover with loose rock. •City will sweep patched streets full width. Notification: Advertisements for bids will appear in the Anoka Union Herald on April 12th and 19th. Bids are proposed to be opened publicly May 7th. Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: Observations: Tentative project schedule: •May 14th- Council considers award of contract •June/July- Start construction •August-Final completion Alternatives: Alternative#1: Motion to adopt Resolution#24-087 approving plans and authorizing bids for Improvement Project#24-55, 2024 Pavement Patching Contracted Services. Funding Source: Estimated costs for the proposed 2024 skim patching project is $270,000. Payment for this work is proposed to come from the $575,000 in funds budgeted for 2024 crackseal,pavement rejuvenator, and pavement patching projects. Staff will request Council approval to solicit quotes for spray patching the identified 0.91 miles of streets after skim patching bids are received and presented to Council on May 14th. Recommendation: Staff recommends Alternative#1. Outcome/Action: Adopt Resolution#24-087 approving plans and authorizing bids for Improvement Project#24-55,2024 Pavement Patching Contracted Services.
