INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS <br /> 1. DEFINED TERMS <br /> The capitalized terms used in these Information for Bidders and all other Contract Documents are <br /> defined in the General Conditions, are referring the reader to another section or article in the <br /> Contract Documents, or are grammatically needed for proper nouns. The terms used are applicable <br /> in both the singular and plural forms. Terms not defined in the General Conditions are to be <br /> interpreted according to the ordinary industry standards. <br /> 2. PLANS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br /> Set of the Plans and Contract Documents are available for a fee and from the place set forth in the <br /> Advertisement for Bids. <br /> The Contract Documents will consist of Advertisement for Bids, Information for Bidders, <br /> Executed Bid Form, Executed Bid Guaranty, Executed Agreement, Executed Bond, Notice of <br /> Award, Notice to Proceed, Special Provisions, Technical Provisions, General Conditions, <br /> Executed Payment Forms, Addenda and all Plans and Drawings. Any or all of these may exist for <br /> a Contract if so provided by the City. <br /> 3. PREQUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS <br /> To submit a Bid,the Owner may make such investigations as he deems necessary to determine the <br /> ability of the Bidder to perform the Work and the Bidder shall furnish to the Owner all such <br /> information and data for this purpose as the Owner may request. The Owner reserves the right to <br /> reject any Bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such Bidder fails to satisfy the <br /> Owner that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Agreement and to <br /> complete the Work contemplated therein. <br /> A conditional or qualified Bid will not be accepted. Award will be made to the lowest responsible <br /> Bidder. <br /> All applicable laws, ordinances and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction <br /> over construction of the Project shall apply to the contract throughout. <br /> 4. EXAMINATION OF PLANS,CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND SITE <br /> The Bidder will examine to his/her satisfaction the quantities of work to be done as determined <br /> from the Plans and Contract Documents. Quantities indicated by the Engineer on drawings,on the <br /> Statement of Estimated Quantities, on the Bid Worksheet, or elsewhere are estimated only and <br /> Bidders must rely on their own calculations. Each Bidder is responsible for being thoroughly <br /> familiar with the Contract Documents, including all Specifications and all Special Provisions. <br /> Bidders must satisfy themselves of the accuracy of the estimated quantities, character and <br /> magnitude of the Work and the conditions under which the Work is to be performed concerning, <br /> the site of the Work, the structure of the ground, the existence of surface and ground water, the <br /> availability of drainage, the obstacles which may be encountered, the means of approach to the <br /> site, the manner of delivering and handling materials, the facilities for transporting and installing <br /> IB1 <br />
