2006-2007 SAFE AND SOBER AGREEMENT WITH STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> By: Captain Timothy Dwyer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The police department has participated in the State of Minnesota Safe and Sober <br />Operation for the last few years. Grant money is available to local agencies to <br />conduct education and enforcement in the area of drunk driving, seatbelt, and <br />speeding. Ten out of the eleven law enforcement agencies in Anoka County will <br />be participating in the 2006-2007 grant operation, starting in October of 2006. <br />Ramsey PD has won equipment and 2nd place awards for it's participation in this <br />program. The State of Minnesota needs a resolution from Council authorizing <br />the execution of the 2006-2007 agreement. All expenses will be covered under <br />this grant, except additional clerical time. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff requests adoption of Resolution #06- authorizing the execution <br />of the required Safe and Sober agreement with the State of Minnesota. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion by City Council to adopt Resolution # 06- , authorizing the <br />execution of the agreement with the State of Minnesota Department of Public <br />Safety for the 2006-2007 participation in the project. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />Chief Jim Way <br />City Administrator Jim Norman <br /> <br />-141- <br /> <br /> <br />
