Frolik reviewed with the Council that
RV World, Inc is currently storing RVs and travel trailers on an unimproved surface on a
residentially zoned property that is currently used for agricultural purposes. They are using this
site to store surplus merchandise that can be transported to their business locale on Highway 10
as merchandise there is depleted. They have applied for an interim use permit to allow for this
activity for a period of five years. The Planning Commission held a public heating and reviewed
the request at their May 4, 2006 meeting. The Planning Commission recommended approving
an interim use permit until September 30, 2007. The request was then presented to Council at
the May 23, 2006 meeting. Based on the recommendation of the Planning Commission, the
findings of fact were drafted to support the request. However, after further discussion of this
request at the Council meeting, the Council tabled the request and directed staff to revise the
findings of fact to deny the.request Ms. Frolik stated, per Council's direction, staffhas amended
the ftndings of fact to deny the request for an interim use permit. Staff recommends adopting the
findings of fact and denying the interim use permit. As part of this action, Council should
specify a date by which the RVs and travel trailers should be removed from the site.

City' Council / June 13, 2006
-150-
