NAU building was one of the first leases the City did, and they are not in this practice any longer. Consensus of Council was that the City should no longer be in the practice of permitting the tenant not to pay taxes with the lease of City-owned buildings. Further discussion: City Attorney Goodrich advised the County will reduce the valuation on the cold storage portion of the building, so the taxes will not be significant. Coun¢ilmember Elvig asked what the rate of the lease was with the NAU building. City Attorney Goodrich replied the rate was the same as this building at $1.25 per square foot, and the City pays the taxes with the NAU property. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Cook, Elvig, Olson, and Pearson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Strommen. City Attorney Goodrich advised the leases are contingent on actually obtaining title, as staff still has not heard from the Met Council regarding the appraisals. ' Case #10: Adopt Ordinance Authorizing the Sale of Lot 2, Block 1, Sunfish Lake Business Park Third Addition City Attorney Goodrich advised the City is currently negotiating a TIF agreement with Minnesota Waterjet. As a part of the transaction, the City is to convey title to: Lot 2, Block 1, Sunfish Lake Business Park Third Addition, Anoka county, Minnesota to Minnesota Waterjet. On May 23, 2006 Council introduced an ordinance to authorize the sale. The ordinance is now being presemed for formal adoption. Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adopt Ordinance No. 06-20 authorizing the sale off Lot 2, Block 1, Sunfish Lake Business Park Third Addition, Anoka County, Minnesota.
