Information Title Adopt Resolution #24-173 Approving Change Order No. 2 for Improvement Project #23-20, COR Mass Grading Purpose/Background: During construction, Enebak Construction encountered a storm sewer manhole buried under the pavement along Center Street that was not identified in the plans. In order to proceed with construction in a timely manner the pavement had to be sawcut and removed, unplanned modifications had to be made to the storm sewer system (manhole and sewer pipes), and the pavement had to be repaired. Notification: Notifications are not required for this case. Observations/Alternatives: Observations: This work has already been completed so Change Order No. 2 is an after -the -fact change order request requiring approval. While staff strives to process proactive change order requests, often times change orders are requested retroactively since it would typically cost significantly more to shut the contractor down while waiting to request City Council approval. Alternatives: Alternative 1 - Adopt Resolution #24-173 Approving Change Order No. 2 for Improvement Project #23-20, COR Mass Grading. Funding Source: As identified in attached Change Order No. 2, the associated increase in construction costs amounts to $17,716.98, which will be funded through storm sewer funds. Recommendation: Staff recommends adopting Resolution #24-173 approving Change Order #2. Action: Adopt Resolution #24-173 Approving Change Order No. 2 for Improvement Project #23-20, COR Mass Grading.
