Councilmernber Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #92-09-247 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS OF FACT #0322 RELATING TO DANNY'S ALUMINUM PROCESSING, INC. REQUEST FOR AN AMENDED CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT o o o o 10. 11. That Mr. Daniel Karst, Jr. of Danny's Aluminum Processing, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the "Applicant", properly applied for a conditional use permit amendment on March 15, 1991, to expand the scope of operations at the existing aluminum processing facility to include disassembly of engines and transmissions in a building on the site. That the Applicant appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a public heating pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the Ramsey City Code on April 11, 1991 and that said public hearing was properly advertised and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated by reference. That on April 11, 1991, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended City Council approval of the Applicants request for an amended conditional use permit to allow the disassembly of engines and transmissions on site. That at the request of the Applicant, the request for a conditional use permit amendment was not forwarded to City Council for approval or denial. That in July of 1992, the Applicant informed City Staff of his desire to proceed with the conditional use permit amendment for disassembly of engines and transmissions, but to also include the ability to operate as a redemption center for other non-hazardous metals and batteries. That pursuant to the Applicant's proposed revision to the conditional use permit amendment to also include the collection of non-hazardous metals and batteries, City Staff referred the Applicant back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for an additional public hearing. That the Applicant appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a second public hearing pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the Ramsey City Code on September 1, 1992 and that said public heating was properly advertised and that the rrdnutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated by reference. That the subject property is generally known as 14050 Basalt Street N.W. and is legally described as follows: Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 4, Gateway North Industrial Park Plat #2, Anoka County, Minnesota. That the subject parcels total approximately five (5) acres in size. That the subject parcels are located in the Industrial District. That the adjacent parcels are zoned I-1 Industrial.
