Councilmernber Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION #92-09-247 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS OF FACT <br /> #0322 RELATING TO DANNY'S ALUMINUM PROCESSING, INC. <br /> REQUEST FOR AN AMENDED CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br /> o <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />That Mr. Daniel Karst, Jr. of Danny's Aluminum Processing, Inc., hereinafter <br />referred to as the "Applicant", properly applied for a conditional use permit <br />amendment on March 15, 1991, to expand the scope of operations at the existing <br />aluminum processing facility to include disassembly of engines and transmissions <br />in a building on the site. <br /> <br />That the Applicant appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a <br />public heating pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the Ramsey City Code on April 11, <br />1991 and that said public hearing was properly advertised and that the minutes of <br />said public hearing are hereby incorporated by reference. <br /> <br />That on April 11, 1991, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended City <br />Council approval of the Applicants request for an amended conditional use permit to <br />allow the disassembly of engines and transmissions on site. <br /> <br />That at the request of the Applicant, the request for a conditional use permit <br />amendment was not forwarded to City Council for approval or denial. <br /> <br />That in July of 1992, the Applicant informed City Staff of his desire to proceed <br />with the conditional use permit amendment for disassembly of engines and <br />transmissions, but to also include the ability to operate as a redemption center for <br />other non-hazardous metals and batteries. <br /> <br />That pursuant to the Applicant's proposed revision to the conditional use permit <br />amendment to also include the collection of non-hazardous metals and batteries, <br />City Staff referred the Applicant back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for <br />an additional public hearing. <br /> <br />That the Applicant appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a <br />second public hearing pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the Ramsey City Code on <br />September 1, 1992 and that said public heating was properly advertised and that the <br />rrdnutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated by reference. <br /> <br />That the subject property is generally known as 14050 Basalt Street N.W. and is <br />legally described as follows: <br /> <br />Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 4, Gateway North Industrial Park Plat #2, Anoka <br />County, Minnesota. <br /> <br />That the subject parcels total approximately five (5) acres in size. <br /> <br />That the subject parcels are located in the Industrial District. <br /> <br />That the adjacent parcels are zoned I-1 Industrial. <br /> <br /> <br />
