<br />Department on the sex offender public hearing that was held. He stated this hearing served a <br />good purpose and alerts the residents in the area of someone that needs to be watched; it gives <br />the Police Department eyes and ears to keep track of these people. <br /> <br />Case #15B: Authorize Sale of City Owned Property to GM Land Company, Inc. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich reviewed that the City has approved the sale of certain City owned <br />property surrounding the existing City Hall to GM Land Company for residential development <br />and which property is being platted as Meadow. This is all pursuant to the terms of a Real Estate <br />Exchange Agreement whereby the City is exchanging its property for land south of the existing <br />City Hall campus. A sale ordinance is necessary for the sale of the City property. The Exchange <br />Agreement has not been finalized; however, it is close, pending resolution of certain land title <br />issues. Staff would like to have the sale ordinance introduced in order to proceed with its final <br />adoption when the plat has been recorded, and the platted lots can then be used for the legal <br />descriptions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig questioned how temporary the easements will be. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich replied the easements will be in place until they are released by the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to introduce a Sale <br />Ordinance for the sale of following legally described property: <br /> <br />Outlot A <br />Lots 6 - 20, 22 and 23, Block I <br />Lots 2 - 6, Block 2 <br />Lots I - 9, Block 3 <br />Lot I, Block 5 <br />All in the duly recorded plat of MEADOW, Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Pearson, Elvig, Olson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Jeffrey. <br /> <br />Case #16: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Authorization to Recruit a Part-Time Regular Building Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson reviewed that a part-time regular Building Maintenance <br />Worker was approved as part of the 2006 budget and staff is requesting authorization to begin <br />the recruitment process to fill this position. It is anticipated this position would work roughly 32 <br />hours per week, Monday through Thursday evening hours. The employee would be brought on <br />in mid-September to prepare for the move to the new municipal center. The recommendation of <br />staff and the Personnel Committee is that staff be authorized to begin the recruitment process for <br />the part-time regular Building Maintenance Worker. <br /> <br />City Council / June 27, 2006 <br />Page 21 of24 <br /> <br />-37- <br />
