Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION g96-08-204 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDING OF FACT g0407 RELATING TO A <br />REQUEST FROM BRIAN WETTERLIND FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />TO CONSTRUCT AN OVERSIZED METAL ACCESSORY STRUCTURE ON <br />LESS THAN 2.5 ACRES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey received an application from Brian Wetterlind for a <br />conditional use permit to construct an oversized metal accessory structure on less than 2.5 acres on <br />the property generally known as 16171 Llama Street N.W. and legally described as follows: <br /> <br />Lot 1, Block 1, Oleo Acres, Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> <br />(the "Subject Property") <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA that the <br />findings of fact relating to the request are determined to be as follows: <br /> <br />That on July 15, 1996, Brian Wetterlind, hereinafter referred to as "Applicant", properly <br />applied for a conditional use permit to construct an oversized metal accessory on a parcel <br />that is determined to be less than 2.5 acres in size. <br /> <br />That the applicant appeared before the Ramsey Planning Commission for a public hearing <br />pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the City Code on August 6, 1996, and that said public <br />hearing was properly advertised and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby <br />incorporated as a part of these findings by reference. <br /> <br />3. That the Subject Property and surrounding parcels are zoned R-1 Rural Residential. <br /> <br />4. That the Subject Property is 2.4 acres in size. <br /> <br />That Section 9.11.02 of the Ramsey City Code states that on parcels less than 2.5 acres in <br />size, the accessory structure shall be built with the same type construction materials and <br />shall have the same general design and exterior facing finish as that of the principal <br />structure on the parcel. <br /> <br />° <br /> <br />That the Applicant is proposing to construct a metal accessory structure on the Subject <br />Property. <br /> <br />That Section 9.11.02 of the Ramsey City Code also states that the total amount of garage <br />and accessory structure space is limited to 1,664 square feet on parcels of land greater than <br />one acre but less than 2.5 acres in size. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />That the Applicant currently has 748 square feet of garage space on the Subject Property; <br />has a 916 square foot allotment remaining; is proposing to add an accessory structure to the <br />property that measures 1,350 square feet in size; which calculates to a 434 square foot <br />oversizing for the Subject Property. <br /> <br />That the adjacent parcels to the west, north and east exceed 2.5 acres in size and qualify for <br />metal accessory structures. <br /> <br /> <br />
