Councilmember Haas Steffen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97-09-282 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FOR HIGHWAY <br />PURPOSES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the extension of C.R. #116 between C.R. #56 and C.R. #83 will greatly <br />enhance the arterial transportation network within the City of Ramsey, and consequently will <br />benefit the health, safety and welfare of the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is current policy that the City is responsible for the provided right-of- <br />way for the construction of new county roads within the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City finds it necessary to acquire the fee title to certain real property in <br />order to provide property for the construction of said highway; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has the right to acquire the real property for the Public <br />Improvement by eminent domain pursuant to Minn. Stat. Chapter 117; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has the tight to acquire the real property prior to filing of an award <br />by the Court Appointed Commissioners, pursuant to Minn. Stats. §117.011 and §117.042; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the property owner of the real property which needs to be acquired has <br />been identified as follows: <br /> <br />A 120.00 foot permanent easement for road, drainage and utility purposes over, under and <br />across the Northwest Quarter of Section 28, Township 32, Range 25, Anoka County, <br />Minnesota, the centerline of which is described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the east line of the Southeast Quarter of said Northwest <br />Quarter and a line 60.00 feet south of and parallel with the north line of the Southeast <br />Quarter of said Northwest Quarter; thence North 89 degrees 29 minutes 01 seconds West, <br />assumed beating along said parallel line, a distance of 220.76 feet; thence northwesterly a <br />distance of 821.52 feet along a tangential curve concave to the northeast, said curve <br />having a radius of 1099.07 feet and a central angle of 42 degrees 49 minutes 37 seconds; <br />thence North 46 degrees 39 minutes 23 seconds West, tangent to the last described curve, <br />a distance of 600.00 feet to a point hereinafter referred to a "Point A"; thence westerly a <br />distance of 821.51 feet along a tangential curve concave to the south, said curve having a <br />radius of 1099.07 feet and a central angle of 42 degrees 49 minutes 35 seconds; thence <br />North 89 degrees 28 minutes 58 seconds West, tangent to the last described curve, a <br />distance of 500.00 feet to the westerly line of said Northwest Quarter and said centerline <br />there terminating. <br /> <br />And <br /> <br /> <br />
