6. On March 10, 1998, the City Council appointed a subcommittee to research feasible sites in <br /> the City for a senior housing project. <br /> <br />7. On June 9, 1998, the City Council identified the Subject Property as the preferred site for a <br /> senior housing project. <br /> <br />8. On June 23, 1998, the City Attorney was directed to initiate legal action to acquire the <br /> Subject Property for a senior housing project. <br /> <br />9. That on July 14, 1998, the City Council reallocated $11,289.00 in 1997 Community <br /> Development Block Grant towards land acquisition for a senior housing project. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />That the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing pursuant to Section 9.03.03 of the <br />City Code on August 4, 1998 and that said public hearing was properly advertised and that <br />the minutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated by reference. <br /> <br />11. That the Subject Property is approximately 3.9 acres in size and is currently occupied with <br /> three (3) vacant and blighted structures. <br /> <br />12. That the property is currently zoned B-1 Business and development of a 50 unit building <br /> would require a rezoning to Multiple Residential (15 units per acre). <br /> <br />13. <br /> <br />That the adjacent property to the south is zoned Planned Unit Development and is occupied <br />by single family homes with an average density of approximately 5 units per acre; the <br />surrounding property to the north, east and west is zoned B-1 Business. <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />That the City has engaged a consultant to update the City's Comprehensive Plan and the <br />current draft land use map targets the Subject Property for high density housing development <br />(7 to 15 units per acre). <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Haas Steffen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98-08-203 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
