Councilmember Haas Steffen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #99-01-023 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT #0485 RELATING TO A <br />REQUEST FROM CONNEXUS ENERGY FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR <br />TWO GROUND OR FREESTANDING SIGNS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey received an application from Connexus Energy for a <br />conditional use permit for two ground signs and to exceed sign size restrictions on the property <br />generally known as 14601 Ramsey Blvd. N.W. and legally described as follows: <br /> <br />Lot 1, Block 1, A.E.C. ENERGY PARK, Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> <br />("Subject Property") <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA that the findings of fact relating <br />to the request are determined to be as follows: <br /> <br />That on December 11, 1998, Connexus Energy, hereinafter referred to as "Applicant," <br />properly applied for a conditional use permit for two ground signs, one of which will be <br />oversized by twelve (12) square feet, in the business warehouse district. <br /> <br />That the Applicant appeared before the Ramsey Planning Commission for a public hearing <br />pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the City Code on January 5, 1999, and that said public hearing <br />was properly advertised, and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated <br />as a part of these findings by reference. <br /> <br />3. That the Subject Property is approximately 45 acres in size. <br /> <br />That the Subject Property and the surrounding property to the south and west is zoned <br />Business Warehouse; the property to the east is public park land, and the property on the <br />north side of Industry Avenue is zoned R-1 Urban Residential and Industrial <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />That Section 9.12.09, Subd. 2 of the Ramsey City Code states that there shall not be more <br />than one ground sign for each parcel in the industrial and business warehouse type districts, <br />and the gross surface area shall not exceed one hundred square feet for each exposed face nor <br />exceed an aggregate gross surface area of two hundred square feet. <br /> <br />6. That the Applicant has road frontage on Industry Avenue (County Road #116) and Ramsey <br /> Blvd. N.W. (County Road #56) with site accesses from each road. <br /> <br />7. That the Applicant is proposing to erect business identification signs at each of the two <br /> accesses. <br /> <br /> <br />
