<br />CHAl"l'ER 5 <br /> <br />INITIATIVE, REFERENDUM MID RECALL <br /> <br />Section 5.01. powers Reserved by the People. The people of the City of R~sey <br /> <br />reserve to thecselves the powers in accordance with the provisions of this charter <br /> <br />to initiate and adopt ordinances, to require ordinances passed by the council to <br /> <br />be re~errec to the electcrate for a?proval or disa?prOval, and to recall elected <br /> <br />public o~ficials. These powers sh~l be called the initiative, the referencuc, <br /> <br />and the ~ecall. respectivelY. <br /> <br />Section 5.02. General Provisions for Petitions. A petition provided for under <br /> <br />this chapter shall be sponsored by a coccittee of five reGistered voters of the <br /> <br />city ..hose =es and adcresses shall appear on the petition. A petition cay consist <br /> <br />of one or core papers, but each separatelY circulated paper shall contain at its <br /> <br />i <br />l <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />. head, or attached thereto, the inforcation specified in sections 5.05. ,5.07. or <br /> <br />5.08. which applY, respectively, to ir~tiative, re~erendU= and recall.
