Goodrich atated Council cannot obligate them.elve. or anyone to voting on <br />any particular ordinance until after the public hearing on the ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Council.ember Cox and .econded by Mayor Beit.an directing City Staff <br />to draft appropriate ordinance. for e.tabli.hing the City into a Borthern and <br />Southern .torm .ewer taxing di.trict; to .chedule aud adverti.e a public <br />hearing regarding those ordinances. It is further directed that the public <br />hearing be .cheduled in a sufficient amount of time to allow for it's <br />advertisement and delivery in the City Bewsletter. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yea: Mayor Beiman, Council.ember. Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting Bo: Bone. <br /> <br />Lola Waller reque.ted that information regarding the percent of Iam.ey <br />residenta having vater problems be available at the next public hearing. <br /> <br />CAAA '5: Hi,h Wat@T Pumpino: <br /> <br />Mr. Bartley stated that he does not have any cost estimates or impact <br />predictions to make regarding pU1llping. <br /> <br />Hr. Raatiklta stated that pumping in 1985 for 3 weelta cost the City $10,000 but <br />that included $5,000 for a pump. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding pumping, related costs and potential for a positive <br />impact. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Beiman to proceed to pump high water areas, as determined by <br />the City Engineer, until May 22, 1986 and to utilise the services of <br />individuals from the cOllllllUnity at a wage of $3.35 per hour to men the pumps. <br />Further, that Council will receive a report from the City. Engineer at their May <br />22, 1986 meeting regarding whether or not continued pumping is justified. <br />Further, the cost of this pumping is estimated to be $7,000.00 <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Mevissen stated that without the purchase of an <br />additional tractor to power the pump, park maintenance will have to be put <br />aside. <br /> <br />Motion failed for lack of a second. <br /> <br />Mayor Beiman called for any other alternatives to the issue and there was no <br />response. <br /> <br />PUBLIC lIRARIIlG <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Beiman adjourned the special meeting at 9:50 p... in order to conduct <br />the continuance of the following public hearing: <br /> <br />1.
