The GittCity shall be closed for business on each suchthese holidays, thoughbut <br />employees may be required to work due to on paid holidays when the nature of their duties or other <br />conditions requires them to uo so. <br />Regular part-time employees are eligible for to earn paid holidays in proportion of what to that <br />earneregular full-time employees earn, based on the numner of hours worked during a-Fty <br />giventhe pay period in which the holiday occurs. If a holiday falls on a non-scheduled <br />workday for a part-time employee, the employee must take the paid holiday within the same <br />period. based on work hours budgeted on January 1. Paid holidays will count toward total budgeted <br />work hours for the year. <br />If an approved holiday falls on a day a part-time employee is not scheduled to work, the employee <br />must take the paid holiday leave during the same pay period in which the holiday occurred. <br />Employees may be required to work on paid holidays when the nature of their duties or other <br />conditions. Nrequire them to do so. 11 non-exempt, non -union employee required to work on a <br />holiday shall receive their full pay for the holiday, as well as a minimum of two hours pay at a <br />rate of 1—i- times the employee's base hourly pay rate for the time worked on such holiday. All <br />holidays specified will be paid in dollars or as earned compensatory time off. <br />Duty Crew Firefighters assigned to the Duty Crew schedule on a holiday shall be paid at time and a <br />half for holiday hours worked. <br />When New Year's Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Veteran s Day, or Christmas Day falls on a <br />Sunday, the following Monday is considered the paid holiday observed as the holiday. If any <br />sucntnese day fall on a Saturday, the preceding Friday 's consideredwill be observed as the paid <br />holiday. _When Christmas Eve falls on Sunday, the preceding Friday is considered the paid <br />holidayis observed as the holiday. <br />Each holiday commences at the beginning of the first shift on the holiday date day on which the <br />holiday occurs and continues for 24 hours Thereafter.— Eligible employees shall receive pay at for <br />official holidays at their normal rate of pay if they are at work or on paid leave the a leave of <br />absence with pay the last regular shift before and the first to which they would have been assigned <br />prior to the holiday and the first regular shift afte <br />following the holiday. <br />New employees hired after December 1 are not eligible for the floating holiday in tduring the <br />calendar year in which they were hired. —Floating holidays may not carry over to the next calendar <br />year.
