<br />Council Member <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # <br /> <br />ADOPTING THE CITY OF RAMSEY'S HIP AA PRIVACY POLICY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the administrative simplification standards required under HIP AA <br />include privacy rules for protected health information; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is subject to the HIPAA privacy rules because it <br />has a health reimbursement arrangement that is administered by a third party; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, HIP AA privacy rules require adoption of a policy that outlines how <br />individually identifiable medical information will be protected. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />Adopt the attached HIP AA Privacy Policy which outlines the measures that will be taken <br />by the City of Ramsey to protect individually identifiable health information. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member, , and upon vote beirig taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 25th day of July, 2006. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-388- <br /> <br />G:\Administration\HumanResources\Benefits\HIPAA\Consider Resolution Adopting HIPAA Policy 7-25-06.doc <br />
