<br />Community Development Director Trudgeon asked what the Council would like to do with this <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated she would like to hear from other developers and their opinion <br />on how they would approach it. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Giesler stated staff will have to research developers who have done this kind <br />of work. <br /> <br />Mr. Franzen stated they would be happy to present some layouts. He stated that 50% open space <br />is impossible to do unless working with detached townhomes or higher density. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated she wants to hear from additional developers beyond the <br />developer who is working with a Councilmember. She stated she would like a broader <br />prospective prior to setting the ordinance. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec concurred. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated that if three or more developers say the same thing, that 50% open <br />space is impossible, then maybe it will have to be reconsidered. He noted that creating a big <br />open space that no one can do anything with is of no benefit to anyone. <br /> <br />Mr. Franzen stated this map was developed by their engineers based on all of the MnJDOT <br />comments. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the proposed road and bridge layout. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted one of the roads will bridge Highway 10 and provide direct <br />access to the Town Center, as requested by the Council. <br /> <br />Planning Associate Giesler stated staff will contact the DNR about the 50% open space <br />requirement. <br /> <br />3) Development Notification to Adjacent Neighborhood <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen stated on the web site you can subscribe to get Council agendas and <br />minutes. She asked if an option can be added to subscribe to receive public notifications. <br /> <br />Councilmember Olson asked if that feature could also be advertised in the Ramsey Resident. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey suggested the City find out how many residents are subscribing for these <br />servIces. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated there has been no cost associated for subscriber services. <br />However, ifthere is a cost that was not anticipated, then it is another issue. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / April 4, 2006 <br />Page 17 of 19 <br />
