<br />Councilmembers, staff, Ms. Reuhle and Mr. McBride discussed the following issues associated <br />with the interchange: <br />· Importance of the model including access to the retail sector being built in Ramsey. <br />· Possible effects of the Northstar Commuter Route on the interchanges. <br /> <br />Ms. Reuhle reviewed the following next steps for public involvement with the TH 10 Access <br />Management Project: review traffic modeling data; refine concepts accordingly; general public <br />mailing; and open house event. She indicated when the alternatives are determined a footprint <br />can be calculated of the needed right-of-way in order to amend the official map area. <br /> <br />3) RMC Conference Room Naming <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson indicated the new Ramsey Municipal Center contains five <br />meeting rooms that will be available for public use. Staff would like input from Council <br />regarding the room naming. Staff has discussed possibilities such as a sister city or Loudi room, <br />and an Alexander Ramsey room. Ms. Nelson suggested the Council may want to consider <br />historical or significant names from the past or names associated with the rivers and parks in the <br />community. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Elvig suggested consideration of names associated with significant individuals <br />from the community. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey suggested the City sell naming rights for the rooms. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the following possible names: Alexander Ramsey Room, Loudi Room, <br />Rum River Room, Mississippi Room, Menzel Fur Company Room, Trott Brook Room, Prairie <br />Home Room, Lake Woebegon Room, Ron Schara Room, Itasca Room. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was agreement on the following room names: <br />· Alexander Ramsey Room (large training room) <br />· Loudi room <br />· Itasca room <br />· Prairie Home or Lake W oebegon Room, with Trott Brook Room as an alternative if these <br />names are not obtainable <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was that the City Attorney should provide information regarding <br />naming rights for the remaining room. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook suggested a resident competition to name the remaining room if the City is <br />not able to sell the naming rights. <br /> <br />4) RMC Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained staff continues to work on developing the <br />Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) package for the new Municipal Center and would like <br />to provide Council with an update on the budget for FF&E. Staff has received pricing for <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / May 2, 2006 <br />Page 7 of 10 <br />
