M <br />The exterior architectural design of the project will utilize painted, rock <br />face concrete block with clear insulated glass window units set in architec- <br />turally finished clear anodized aluminum frames. One pair of slimline alu- <br />minum and glass entrance doors will be provided along the sports center west <br />side. Exterior operable windows will be provided for the office areas. All <br />windows and doors will be 1" thick tempered, clear insulated glass units. <br />Three supplementary exterior service exits will be provided for the sports <br />center and one supplementary exterior service exit will be provided for the <br />storage building. One 8' -0" wide pair of doors will be provided for access <br />to the display area. Exterior exits will be insulated hollow metal doors <br />set in hollow metal frames. In addition, two painted overhead garage doors <br />with steel bumper posts will be provided for the sports center and one <br />painted overhead garage door with steel bumper posts will be provided for <br />the storage building. A 6' high chain link fence will be provided around <br />the exterior storage area located between the buildings and will include one <br />15' wide rolling.gate with four steel bumper posts protecting the gate open- <br />ing. <br />4. G-ne,- 1 F <br />A one -story sports center and storage building of approximately 10,500 sq. <br />It. and 4,000 sq. ft., respectively, will be constructed. The sports center <br />will support two spans of open -web bar joists and metal roof deck by means <br />of 12" concrete block bearing walls in conjunction with steel lintels and <br />columns along display areas and a steel beam and colon line running in the <br />east - direction. Two 35 x 150' bays will be created providing a nomi- <br />nal 12' clear height from floor to bar joists with a roof slope of 4" to <br />the center of the building. The storage building will support single span <br />open -web bar joists and metal roof deck by means of 12" concrete block <br />bearing walls. The building will be provided with a nominal clear height of <br />approxi�-retely 12' from floor to bar joists with a roof slope of 8" to the ea <br />The building envelope (walls and. roof) will be insulated to conform to the <br />U -value prescribed by the current Minnesota Energy Conservation Legislation. <br />The values are .06 for roofs and .238 (average for exterior walls including <br />glazed areas) . All exterior concrete block walls for both buildings will be <br />insulated with Polystyrene bead core fill insulation above grade and rigid <br />polystyrene insulation below grade. A 3--p1y built -up fiberglass felt, <br />asphalt and travel roof surface over two lavers of insulation will be pro- <br />vided for both buildings. r11 exterior flashing and fascia will be painted <br />galvanized sheetmetal. Roof drainage for the sports center will be <br />accomplished by two interior roof drains plu^b°d to ground level at the <br />north side of the building. Roof drainage for the storage building will be <br />accomplished by two exterior scuppers with dow:.spouts.
