The <br />CaimQnission noted the <br />following City Council meeting minutes: <br />1) <br />Special <br />City Council <br />meeting minutes <br />dated January 11, 1988. <br />2) <br />Regular <br />City Council <br />meeting minutes <br />dated January 12, 1988. <br />3) <br />Special <br />City Council <br />meeting minutes <br />dated January 19, 1988. <br />4) <br />�rn <br />Regular <br />PLANnINO <br />City Council <br />AND ZONING <br />meeting minutes <br />QQ=SSION MEETING <br />dated January 26, 1988. <br />MIN[fl'ES <br />The Commission noted the following: <br />1) Planning and Zoning Commission regular meeting minutes dated January <br />5, 1988. <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />C ase #1: Review pr =sed ordinance eg u1a ` g snowmobile use. <br />Representatives of the Snowmobilers Association were present and stated that <br />per the Commission's request to review the proposed snowmobile ordinance, <br />the club recommended that only certain areas be designated for snowmobile <br />use as a way to protect the boulevards. <br />Chief Auspos noted that most of the complaints regarding snowmobile <br />activity were from areas of Rivers Bend and Flintwood Hills. <br />Chief Auspos stated that he would rather see the ordinance restrict <br />snowmobile activity to boulevards rather than roadways, otherwise you would <br />have 14 year olds driving snowmobiles in the roadway that you have to be 16 <br />years old to drive a car on. <br />City Attorney Bill Goodrich noted that restricting snowmobile activity to <br />the outside edge of the road would eliminate the use of snowmoblies in <br />Rivers Bend and Fintwood Hills. <br />The consensus of the Commission was that stricter snowmobile regulations are <br />needed to address the urban area. Discussion ensued regarding proposed <br />ordinance language. <br />This item is placed on the next adgenda for further discussion. <br />Case 42 Review pr trails man. <br />Merland Otto presented a draft map showing proposed trail corridors in <br />Ramsey for the Commission's information. <br />The Commission reviewed the proposed alignments for acquiring land along <br />the ditch to satisfy the City's park dedication requirements for the <br />Park & Recreation Commission/February 11, 1988 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />
