Authorization to operate the pool'
for 11 weeks this summer was given
to community 'education by the
school board at a me~ting Tuesday,
Feb. 22. The limited operation of the
pool was made possible by funds
from the community education
budget and contribution from three"
Of the total 'cost of $10,800,
$5,800 will come from the communi-
ty education budget; the.city of Elk
River will contribute $4,000, the Ci-
ty of Rogers $25D and the City of
Ramsey $500. . '
The school board members
registered disappointment at the
meeting concerning the small
number of district communities will.
ing to contribute to the pool opera-
tion. According to Superintendent
George Zabee, all of the 15 cities and
townships in the district were con.
tac~d about contributing.
'In a lettedrom the City of Rogers
allocating their contribution, City
Administrator Daniel V ogt also
mentioned that the Rogers City
Council "was somewhat disturbed
to see that only three cities. . . in the
district contributed to the pool
fund."
In his letter, Vogt stated, "the
funds, encouraged the school
