The lawful use of buildings or land existing at the effective date of this <br />Ordinance which does not conform to the provisions of this Ordinance may be <br />continued; provided, however, that no such non-conforming use of land shall <br />be enlarged or increase, nor shall any such non-conforming use be extended <br />to occupy a greater area of land than that occupied by such use at the time <br />of the adoption of this Ordinance; nor shall any such non-conforming use be <br />moved to any other part of the parcel of land upon which the same was con- <br />ducted at the time of the adoption of this Ordinance. <br /> <br />No <br />enerr <br />ed <br /> <br />I SUB <br /> <br />Alt <br />dent <br />evel <br /> <br />2. Buildings found to be non-conforming only be reason of height, yard or area <br />requirements shall be exempt from the provisions of paragraph 1 of this Sub- <br />division. <br /> <br />SUBDIVISION B - NON-CONFORrUNG JUNK YARDS <br /> <br />SUB <br /> <br />No junk yard may continue as a non-conforming use for more than one (1) year Mair <br />after the effective date of this Ordinance except that a junk yard may continue Ing <br />as a non-conforming use in an industrial district if within that periOd it is cid <br />.completely enclosed within a building, fence, screen planting or other device of or <br />such height so as to screen completely the operations of the junk yard. Plans <br />of such a building or device shall be approved by the Planning Commission and Not <br />the City Council before it is erected or put into place. tio, <br />the <br /> <br />SUBDIVISION C - DISCONTINUANCE SUB. <br /> <br />In the event that a non-conforming use of any building or premises is discon- Non- <br />tinued or its normal operation stopped for a period of one (1) year, the use of cri <br />the same shall thereafter conform to the regulations of the District in which it tio! <br />is located. Ord <br /> <br />SUBDIVISION D - ALTERATIONS <br /> <br />The lawful use of a building existing at the time of the adoption of this Ordin- <br />ance may be continued, although such use does not conform with the provisions <br />hereof. If no structural alterations are made, a non-conforming use of a build- <br />ing may be changed to another non-conforming use of the same or more restricted <br />classification. The foregoing provisions shall also apply to non-conforming <br />uses in districts hereafter changed.
