Inquired if he had any legal recourse where <br />the oontractor is ooncerned. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka replied that the C1 ty will take care of necessary roaCMay rep:lirs <br />but haneowners are reslX>nsible for rep:liring their own driveways. <br /> <br />Bob Bruce - Stated he is sure the Ci ty minutes will reflect that there were <br />problE!tls wi th the road 3 weeks into the one year guarantee on oonstruction. <br />Sealooating is a waste of money until the road is properly oonstructed. <br /> <br />~n Brown - Riverwood Bills - Stated he ini tiated the peti tion in this area <br />requesting blacktop improvements and there was an agreenent wi th Ci ty Council <br />that the Ci ty would maintain the roads. Sealooating is not an improvement, it <br />is a maintenance item. Many of the residents are still p:lying for the blacktop <br />oonstruction and eX> not intend to p:ly a seoond assessnent for a maintenance <br />i ten that should be oovered in the general taxes. If the Ci ty made an error <br />and did not bond enough funds at the time of oonstruction to take care of <br />maintenance, it is the C1 ty' s problem. <br /> <br />Steve Mackey -Countryside Estates - Agreed that sealooating is a maintenance <br />item; oontacted a mnber of cities and none of them assess for maintenance. <br /> <br />George Adams - 4850 177th Avenue - Confinned that City did state they would be <br />resp:>nsible for maintaining the roads. <br /> <br />Mrs. Bruce - Stated that if her road ever gets properly rep:tired, she feels <br />sealooating should be a maintenance item that should have been oovered in the <br />ini tial assessnent for road oonstruction. <br /> <br />Mike Drossel - SlX>rts Haven - Stated that he has been in the asJ;hal t business <br />for 14 years and his experience has been that sealooating is done one to two <br />years after road oonstruction. Have lived in the area a ntlnber of years and <br />have yet to see a City or County crew doing any maintenance on the roads. <br />1here are cracks in the road that are 1-1/2. wide that weeds grow through. <br /> <br />B. Riewe - Countryside Estates - Sealooating should be oonsidered maintenance <br />and should be taken fran general taxes as everybody benefits fran all roads. <br />Preptred a petition for sealooating and one against sealooating; obtained more <br />than 30 signatures ogx>sing sealooating and no signatures for sealooating. <br />Subni tted peti tion to Ci ty Council. <br /> <br />it:In Woodfill - 9052 l75th Lane - Countryside Estates - Was originally against <br />blactowing because of the IX>Or drainage in the area but the project Pissed and <br />oonstruction took place in the late Fall season.
