Coing through the Star City process viII develop an economic <br />development strategy witb continuity for a community. Requirements for <br />attaining Star City designation are: <br /> <br />1. Attendance at annual Star City training conference. <br /> <br />2. Establish an organization responsible for the community's economic <br />development. <br /> <br />3. Create a local development corporation. <br /> <br />4. Assess the community in a profile that must be updated annually. <br /> <br />5. Draft a 5 year plan and strategy for economic development. <br /> <br />6. Complete a one year work program and development strategy which <br />relates to the 5 year economic development plan. <br /> <br />7. Make a 5 year capital improvement plan. <br /> <br />8. Produce a slide presentation or video tape of the community. <br /> <br />9. Survey labor in the community and the area. <br /> <br />10. Publish a marketing fact brochure for potential developers of <br />commercial and industrial property. <br /> <br />11.
