Absent: Commi..ioner. <br /> <br />Case'l: Discussion Reiardinr Coordinator For Star City Proiram: <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Rardin and leconded by Commissioner Muller to recommend <br />tbat Ms. Anne lorris lerve as coordinator for the Star City Program and to <br />is.ue the following ,tatement to City Council: Tbe Star City Program will <br />require a commitment not only by the EDC, but by the City Council and City <br />Staff as vell. EDC', aotion to appoint Ms. lorris as project coordinator was <br />not taken ligbtly. EDC realizes tbe tise constraints vbicb Ms. lorris is now <br />vorking under. EDC feel. .trongly enougb about tbe Star City Program and tbe <br />positive effects it vill have on tbe City, tbat EDC is requesting not only <br />Council's Bupport of the project, but a commitment of Ms. lorris' time to <br />properly coordinate this project. <br /> <br />Furtber Discussion: Ms. lorris .tated tbat sbe vill only have tiae to <br />coordinate the Star City Program project if tbere is a commitment frOD City <br />Council and IDC. Commissioner Ippel inquired if appointing Ms. lorris as <br />project coordinator viII present at hardship to City Staff. Mr. Hartley <br />replied that currently, Staff has all the vork they can handle; it will bave to <br />be a satter of setting priorities; tbe Star City project is tiae consuming but <br />tbe payback is enormous. Mr. Hartley stated tbat Ms. lorris' regular tasks <br />include evaluating proposals and working vitb developers, addressing Planning <br />and Zoning issues, vorking witb individuals requesting conditional use permits, <br />enforcement of zoning and codes (wbicb task viiI eventually be transferred to <br />the Building Inspector as construction needs lessen), develop good relations <br />vitb State agencies; these tasks viII have less attention if Hs. lorris is <br />appointed Star City Program Coordinator.
