Advertising wall signs shall be permitted only in the ('om- <br />merrial type districts according to the requirements set forth for those <br />districts. <br /> <br />') <br /> <br />2. Free standing advertising signs shall be permitted only on <br />the par('cls where the subject activity is located, but only after secur- <br />ing a special use permit. The following conditions shall be considered <br />as the minimum standards for free standing advertising signs, but the <br />city may impose additional conditions. . <br /> <br />"') <br /> <br />a. Maximum Height: Thirty-five (35) feet above lot grade, <br />unless the sign is intended to be viewed from a high- <br />way, then the thirty-five (35) foot maximum height <br />will he computed from the centerline of the traveled <br />highway, but in no case shall the vertical distance <br />between the bottom of the sign and the ground be <br />reduced to less than ten (10) feet. <br />b. Maximum Sign Area: Three hundred (300) square fee t <br />per facing and not to exceed two (2) facings. Double- <br />faced signs shall be attached back to back. <br />c. Minimum Setback from Street Right-of-Way Lines: Five <br />( 5 ) fee t . <br />d. Sign Structure Specifications: The structure shall be <br />be all metal. The metal shall be either painted or <br />treated to prevent deterioration. Lack of proper main- <br />tenance shall be cause for revocation of the special <br />use permit. <br /> <br />170.055 .DISTRICT REGUL\TIONS <br /> <br /> <br />In addition to those signs permitted in all districts, the following <br />signs are permitted in each specific district and shall be regulated <br />as to size, location and character according to the requirements herein <br />set forth. . <br /> <br />170.0SSA RI~IDENTIAL TYPE DISTRICTS <br /> <br />1. Nameplate Signs: One (1) sign for each dwelling unit, . <br />not greater than two (2) square feet in area, indicating the name and/or <br />address of the occupant. <br /> <br />2. Institutional and Recreational Signs: One (l) sign or <br />bulletin board per street frontage for a church, a public institutional <br />use or a recreational use in the residential districts. Such sign or <br />bulletin board shall not exceed twenty-four (24) square feet in area <br />nor shall it be placed closer than ten (10) feet to any street right-of- <br />way line. <br /> <br />3. Area Identification Signs: One (1) sign per development. <br />not to exceed twenty-four (24) square feet in area. <br /> <br />J <br />" <br /> <br />4.
