Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #06 -08 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF DEPOSIT FOR ORDER OF FURNITURE & FIXTURES FOR NEW MUNICIPAL CENTER WHEREAS, construction of the new Ramsey Municipal Center is nearing completion; WHEREAS, staff has developed and reviewed with City Council a furniture and fixtures package that incorporates furniture from the existing municipal center; and WHEREAS, a budget of $756,000.00 was established for furnishing the new Municipal Center; and WHEREAS, furniture will be purchased from Intereum utilizing the University of Minnesota contract that is bid annually; and WHEREAS, pricing for the furniture package, including work stations, conference tables, lobby furniture, and seating is $556,106.28; and WHERES, Intereum has requested a 50% deposit to facilitate placing the order for the furniture package. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes payment of a deposit in the amount of $280,000.00 to facilitate ordering the furniture package for the new Ramsey Municipal Center. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 8` day of August, 2006.
