Jankowski, City Engineer <br />$711,822.00 <br />$761,875.00 <br />$730, 000.00 <br />CASE # <br />Background: <br />Wells 7 & 8 are needed to provide additional source water supply to meet the increasing <br />water demand for the City. Bids for this project were opened on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 <br />and proposals were received from two bidders with the results as follows: <br />The low bid submitted is 2.5% below the engineers estimate for this work. The <br />estimated the construction cost for Well 7 at $1,080,000 and Well 8 at $790,000. This <br />budget includes funds for the construction of a well house at Well 7, and connecting <br />watermain for both wells into the distribution system. The proposed funding sources for <br />this project will be $500,000 from TIF District #1 and $1,080,000 from the Water Utility <br />Fund. <br />Attached to this case is a letter from Bolton & Menk Inc. consulting_ engineers for this <br />project. Having analyzed the bids they are recommending award of the contract to E. H. <br />Renner & Sons in the amount of $711,822.00. <br />Motion to adopt Resolution 06- 08 -XXX awarding the contract for Improvement Project <br />05 -41 to E. H.
