Voting No: None Abstain: Commissioner Brauer. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called for a recess at 9:55 p.m. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the meeting back to order at 10:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #7: <br /> <br />Introduce Ordinance Amending Section 9.02 Definitions And 9.20.11 R-2 <br />Medium Density Residential District Of City Code <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt call the public hearing to order at 10:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Associate Planner Dalness stated that staff has drafted an ordinance to define and allow for <br />detached townhomes in the R-2 Residential District. Detached townhomes would also be <br />allowed in a Planned Unit Development not exceeding 4 units per acre in an R-I District. Ms <br />DaInes requested direction regarding alternatives presented in the case to provide more open <br />space or space between units. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />There were no verbal or written comments submitted regarding the proposed amendment. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the proposed setbacks between buildings and plat boundaries and <br />minimum separation between buildings. <br /> <br />Some of the commissioners inquired as to why the City would amend City Code to allow and <br />permit detached townhomes and then require detached townhomes to be processed as a Planned <br />Unit Development. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt directed Staff to review the definitions of tri-plex and quads and discern <br />whether the bulk standards table has to be expanded to include them. <br /> <br />Public Hearing Adjournment <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt and seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy to adjourn the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
