<br />signs directing people to Quicksilver, to post no parking signs on the road, to sweep Quicksilver, <br />and to bring back information at a future meeting regarding an additional exit from the park onto <br />Osmium Street, two exit lanes with a widening of Quicksilver, and a stop sign at Uranium Street <br />and 163rd or inside the parking lot. The sweeping of Quicksilver was completed prior to Council <br />ratification. Superior Striping is on-call and ready to stripe the two exit lanes on Quicksilver first <br />thing in the morning before the traffic from the soccer tournament this week. He advised staff <br />recommends moving forward with a stop sign at Uranium Street. <br /> <br />3) Consider Placement of Park Location Signs <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson indicated this discussion was regarding placing directional signs <br />throughout the City to prominent parks in the City to provide more direction to passing <br />motorists. The recommendation of the Committee was to direct staff to create a master plan map <br />depicting possible locations for park location signs and to bring the information back to a future <br />Committee meeting. <br /> <br />4) Discussion ofthe Removal of Chevrons at 169th Avenue and Neon Street <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson indicated the resident that originally requested chevrons to be <br />posted at 169th Avenue and Neon Street requested that the chevrons be removed and replaced <br />with two official size arrows posted in both directions. This is the recommendation that was <br />made by the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee in Case Nos. 1 through 4 and to direct staff as <br />follows: <br />· Delay the opening of Welcomes Road until the watermain construction on the west side <br />of Welcomes Road is complete; <br />· Place the prepared sandwich board sign at the parking lot entrance to Elmcrest Park; post <br />exit signs to the east from the parking lot; post no parking signs on the road; stripe two <br />exit lanes on Quicksilver; proceed with the installation of a stop sign at Uranium Street <br />and 163rd; and to bring back information at a future meeting regarding an additional exit <br />from the park onto Osmium Street. <br />· Create a master plan depicting possible locations for park location signs and to bring the <br />information back to a future Public Works Committee meeting; <br />· Remove the chevrons located at 169th Avenue and Neon Street, keeping two official size <br />arrows posted in both directions. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Olson, Jeffrey, Pearson, <br />and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />Present Address Signs for Townhome Developments <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson indicated staff presented the Committee with examples of the <br />townhome development address signs that were prepared with the recently purchased sign <br /> <br />City Council / July 11,2006 <br />Page 9 of 13 <br />
