.... . 9_,

CASE #1

RECEIVE/REVISE DRAFT 1998 - 2003 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM
By: Mark Boos, ParkslUtilities Supervisor

Background:

The attached five-year Capital Improvements Program (CIP) is the result of the Commission's
discussions at the June meeting. It is recommended that the Commission review the document
item by item prior to the scheduled public hearing on August 14, 1997. In addition, staff
requests that one or more Commissioners be present at the Finance Committee meeting of
August 26, 1997.

At the time of this case preparation, the only item of infonnation requested was clarification on
remaining funds from Fox Park's development. The remaining approved dollars are circled on
the ledger which is located after the CIP. These moneys will be needed for landscaping in the
park. As you may know, Kaleidoscope Daycare Center is developing a community service
proj ect at the park.

The Commission should also be aware that City Council has authorized staff to negotiate a
purchase agreement for Community Park 5 with the logical contingencies. (A copy of that
Council case is also attached.

Commission Action:

Revise or approve the draft CIP as necessary and determine which Commission members are
able to attend the August 26, 1997 Finance Committee meeting.

Reviewed by:

Copies also distributed to:

ParkslUtilities Supervisor
City Administrator

Finance Officer

/jmt

Council/Commissions/Park & ReclCIP.doc

(
