Background: <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Committee Action: <br />PC: 08 -22 -06 <br />RF ORT <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE <br />A PART -TIME BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br />PC CASE # <br />The City Council recently authorized staff to begin the recruitment process for a Part- <br />time Building Maintenance Worker. The position was advertised and approximately 20 <br />applications were received. Ten applicants were interviewed and three applicants <br />received second interviews. The interview panel selected Mr. Don Meyenburg to <br />advance in the selection process and Mr. Meyenburg has successfully completed the <br />background check and pre- employment physical and drug screen. <br />Staff is recommending that the Personnel Committee accept staff's recommendation to <br />hire Mr. Don Meyenburg as a Part-time Building Maintenance Worker at an hourly wage <br />of $14.35. With City Council approval, Mr. Meyenburg's start date will be on or near <br />August 28, 2006. <br />Motion recommending that the City Council accept staff's recommendation to hire <br />Mr. Don Meyenburg as a Part-time Building Maintenance Worker at an hourly wage of <br />$14.35.
