<br />i <br />t I <br />..... ! i <br />.; <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #97-XX <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE "ZONING AND <br />SUBDIVISION OF LAND" CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, <br />MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9.11.18 "GRADING, MINING AND FILLING <br />PERMITS" OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. <br /> <br />AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Section 9.11.18 (Grading, Mining and Filling Permits), Subd. 6(b) is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Subd. 6. Performance Standards. <br /> <br />b. Water resources. The grading, mining or filling operation shall be conducted in such a <br />manner as to minimize interference with the surface water drainage outside of the <br />boundaries of the operation. <br /> <br />Excavation occurring below groundwater elevation may require an analysis performed by <br />a hydrologist or other qualified professional. Such analysis shall address whether the <br />proposed excavation shall have a significant impact on the adjacent groundwater quantity <br />and quality. In general, excavations less than 15 acres shall be exempt from this <br />requirement unless there is evidence of clay lenses or perched water table adjacent to the <br />excavation, in which case some analysis may be required. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. <br /> <br />EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />The effective date of this Ordinance is thirty (30) days after its passage and publication, subject <br />to City Charter Section 5.07. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Ramsey City Council the <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />, 1997. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />G~ <br />
