The employee's child including foster child adult child legal ward a child for whom the <br />employee is the legal guardian, or a child to whom the employee stands (or stood) in loco <br />parentis. <br />The employee's spouse or registered domestic partner. <br />The employee's sibling, stepsibling, or foster sibling. <br />The employee's biological, adoptive, or foster parent, stepparent, or a person who stood in <br />loco parentis when the employee was a minor child. <br />The employee's grandchild, foster grandchild, or step grandchild. <br />The employee's grandparent or step grandparent. <br />A child of the employee's sibling. <br />A sibling of the employee's parents. <br />A child in law or sibling in law. <br />Any of the family members listed above (1 9) of the employees spouse or registered <br />domestic partner. <br />Any other individual related by blood or whose close association with the employee is the <br />equivalent of a family relationship. <br />Up to one individual annually designated by the employee. <br />Earned sick and safe time (ESST) eligible uses shall include: 1. the employees mental or physical <br />illness, treatment or preventive care; 2. a family member's mental or physical illness, treatment or <br />preventive care; 3. absence due to domestic abuse, sexual assault or stalking of the employee or a <br />closure of a family member's school or care facility due to weather or public emergency; and 5. <br />when determined by a health authority or health care professional that the employee or a family <br />member is at risk of infecting others with a communicable disease. <br />Earned sick and safe time eligible family members shall include:1. Employee's child, includin_ <br />foster child, adult child, legal ward, child for whom the employee is legal guardian or child to <br />whom the employee stands or stood in loco parentis (in place of a parent); 2. their spouse or <br />adoptive or foster parent, stepparent or a person who stood in loco parentis (in place of a parent) <br />when the employee was a minor child; 5. their grandchild, foster grandchild or step grandchild; 6. <br />their grandparent or step grandparent; 7. a child of a sibling- of the employee; 8. a sibling of the <br />parents of the employee; 9. a child in law or sibling in law; 10. any of the family members (1 <br />through 9 above) of an employee's spouse or registered domestic partner; 11. any other individual <br />related by blood or whose close association with the employee is the equivalent of a family <br />relationship; and 12. up to one individual annually designated by the employee. <br />To be eligible for earned sick and safe time ( ) an employee shall provide notice of ESST use <br />and documentation as follows: <br />! If the need for use of ESST is foreseeable, the employer requires employees to provide <br />seven (7) days' notice. <br />If the need for use of ESST is not foreseeable, employees must provide notice as soon a; <br />practicable. <br />Employees must inform their su ervisors of their shall provide notice of the intent to use ESST <br />to their supervisors via the supervisor's stated expectations which may include such as, <br />notifying a supervisor by via email, telephone, or text message. <br />311Page <br />
