• Controlling staff involved to prevent interference with or hinderance of law enforcement or <br />emergency personnel efforts.co that they do not interfere with or hinder the efforts of law <br />enforcement or other emergency personnel who may respond to the incident. <br />• Ensurin that necessary medical attention and/or emotional support is provided to <br />the employees affected by the incident. <br />• Contacting the Administrative Services Director to: <br />o -Aarrange for relief from duty of the employee(s) involved in who committed the <br />workplace violence.; <br />o Csoordinate an investigation, <br />o H and to handle disciplinaryy actions and 4etum_ to_ work proceduresissuca. <br />The Administrative Sen'ices Director <br />may, in addressing the situation, consider the following:The Administrative Services Director may <br />address the situation by: <br />• Assessing the needs of victims and other employees impacted by the incident. <br />• Evaluating and implementing Any additional security measures based on the following that <br />need to be put into place, taking into considerations: <br />o -Tthe likelihood of violence. <br />o -Tthe costs and benefits of security measures, <br />o -the impact of security measures on the employee(s) involved and the rest of the <br />workforce, <br />o -the impact of security measures on the CityCity's--ability to meet customer needs. the <br />ItWhe+ a supervisor or Department Head is notified of an employee having identifying icd <br />CityCity work locations as being protected areas due to for purposes of restraining or protective <br />orders, or in cases involving domestic violence, OR of a domestic violence situation, the <br />Administrative Services Director is tomust be consulted immediately to determine the appropriate <br />course of action. what actions may be appropriate. <br />The Administrative Services Director may consult with the Police Department to determine what <br />appropriate security measures need to be taken with regard to any reported or potential workplace <br />violence incident. <br />Due to the need to allow public access to CityCity facilities and services, the CityCity cannot <br />guarantee that violence will not occur on its premises. <br />The CityCity subscribes to the concept of a safe work environment and supports the prevention of <br />workplace violence.— Prevention efforts include, but are not limited to, informing employees of <br />this policy, instructing employees regarding the dangers of workplace violence, communicating the <br />consequences for violating this rule, and providing a hierarchy for reporting within which to report <br />incidents of violence without fear of reprisal. <br />Any GityCity employee who violates this policy may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and <br />including immediate termination. <br />Any customer of the QityCity who violates this policy may be denied access to GityCity business <br />locations. —_Anyone who engages in violence may be subject to criminal sanctions. <br />571Page <br />
