r.

e

e

,.

5) The City is currently updating our shoreland provisions of the Storm Water Plan. The City
has budgeted for preliminary work on the Storm Water Plan and for the beginning of
topographical mapping of the City ($30,000). When the update of the storm water plan is
completed, it is expected to cost approximately $20,000. The City is awaiting responses
from the Lower Rum River Drainage District development of its plan for drainage. Based
upon the flows reported by the MWCC, it would appear that at this time there is no
significant problems with infiltration and inflow in the existing sewer system.

6) The City currently allows communal systems in the MUSA, as stated in Ordinance #89-16
(Appendix A of Plan Amendment). In the rural area, the City has received a request for a
development of townhomes using a communal treatment facility. It is intended that during
the land use update scheduled for the spring of 1994, these systems will be addressed
formally. However, in the short term, the City will be presenting a policy to the City
Council to prevent the use of communal systems if it is incompatible with the proposed
development of the area.

Please contact me if you need additional information at 427-1410.

Sincerely,

Ryan Schroeder
City Administrator

RS/jk1

CC: Project Manager James Gromberg
