In addition to regulating building setback, building width, <br />and minimum lot size, the DNR also limits the amount of <br />impervious surface on each lot to 30% of the total lot area. <br />This impervious surface must be at least 50' from the river <br />and screened by natural material. <br />Regulations within the Critical Area corridor are set by the <br />Environmental Quality Board (EQB). All land uses within <br />this area are subject to their standards regarding lot size, <br />setbacks, and building heights. Map 5 shows that within the <br />Ramsey Critical Area Corridor there are two different dis- <br />tricts: Rural Open Space and Urban Developed. Designation <br />of a river as part of the WSRR system is limited to those <br />rivers or segments of rivers which are thought to have out - <br />standing scenic or recreational value. It has been deter- <br />mined that the Rum and Mississippi rivers, as they pass through <br />Ramsey, meet this critera. The land use provisions in the <br />DNR's rules and regulations differ for the Mississippi and <br />the Rum rivers.
