<br />"It. <br /> <br />C01.lncilmember Peterson introduced the followirig resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #89-06-127 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING CITY'S INTENT TO IMPLEMENT ONE IN TEN <br />ZONI1\'G CALCULATED ON THE BASIS OF FOUR UNITS IN FORTY ACRES <br />WITHIN THE CITY'S NON-SEWERED AREA <br /> <br />'''HEREAS, a ponion of the City of Ramsey is currently within the 1990 Metropolitan <br />Urban Service Area and is partially served by sanitary sewer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is experiencing significant growth within the urban and rural areas <br />of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to encourage development within the Urban Service Area <br />of the City in. order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens and to protect the natural <br />resources of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council to modify its policy to comply with <br />Metro Council Framework provided that Metropolitan Council approves the City's current request <br />to expand the MUSA area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City needs to accommodate such development by expanding the <br />Metropolitan Urban Service Area. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follo~~.rs: <br /> <br />1) That in accordance with Metropolitan Council policy for development in the Rural Service <br />Area, the City intends to amend its Comprehensive Plan and ordinance subject to the <br />provisions of the City Charter and City ordinances which implements "one in ten" zoning <br />for the Rural Residential Area of the City calculated on the basis of 40 acre parcels. <br /> <br />2) That City staff is directed to amend the Comprehensive Plan and to prepare an ordinance <br />for the adoption process such that the ordinance can be implemented no later than January <br />1, 1990. <br /> <br />3) That the City Administrator shall forthwith notify landowners of the City's intent to adopt <br />said policy in the Comprehensive Plan and to adopt such an ordinance and schedule a <br />public information meeting for interested landowners. <br /> <br />4) That the City Administrator shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Metropolitan <br />Council stating the City's intent <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />DeLu-::a and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember DeLuca <br />Councilmember Cich <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />
