METROPOLITAN COUNCIL Mears Park Centre, 230 East Fifth Street, St. Paul, MN. 55101 612 291 -6359 <br />July 20, 1989 <br />?)avid Hartley, Administrator <br />City of Ramsey <br />15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW <br />Ramsey, MN 55303 <br />RE: City of Ramsey <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment Review <br />MUSA Extension of 405 Acres <br />Metropolitan Council Referral File No. 13834 - <br />Dear Mr. Hartley: <br />At its meeting on July 13, 1989, the Metropolitan Council considered the <br />proposed city of Ramsey comprehensive plan amendment that would extend the MUSA <br />by 405 acres. This consideration was based on a report of the Metropolitan <br />and Community Development Committee, Referral Report No. 89 -71. A copy of this <br />report is attached. <br />The Council approved the following recommendations contained in the above <br />report: <br />1. That the Metropolitan Council adopt the Findings and Conclusions as stated <br />above as part of this recommendation. <br />2. That . the, Metropolitan_Council approve_a MUSA extension of 200 residential <br />acres, as shown on the attached map. <br />3. That the Metropolitan Council approve a MUSA extension of the remaining 205 <br />acres once the Metropolitan Council has reviewed and approved a <br />comprehensive plan amendment incorporating the three ..city' resolutions <br />regarding rural residential development, on -site sewer systems, and <br />connection to the'municipal sewer system. <br />4. Following Council approval of the city's proposed amendment to its <br />comprehensive plan and on - site sanitary system controls, the city should <br />prepare and submit to the Metropolitan Council and the MWCC amendments to <br />its sewer policy plan and comprehensive sewer plan. The amendments should <br />incorporate sewered household and flow projections for the years 2000 and <br />2010 and a plan and schedule for the staged expansion of municipal sewer <br />service. <br />
