<br />LaCftd Use Definitigns <br /> <br />The Future Land Use Map identifies how the City of Ramsey will develop over the next 20 years. Below are descriptions of <br />what each classification shown on the future land use map means. <br /> <br />Low Density Urban Residential- Residential land within the Metropolitan Urban Service <br />Area (MUS A) that may receive mostly single family residential units with a density up to 3 <br />units per acre. Townhomes could be allowed and density raised to 4 units per acre through <br />the Planned Unit Development process. <br /> <br />Medium Density Urban Residential- Residential land within the MUSA intended to re- <br />ceive duplexes, twin homes, townhomes, and/or apartments at a density of 4 to 7 dwelling <br />units per acre. <br /> <br />High Density Urban Residential- Residential land within the MUS A that will accommo- <br />date multi-family housing units such as townhomes and apartments at a density of 7 to 15 <br />units per acre. <br /> <br />Places to Work <br />Places to Work include areas primarily reserved for office and industrial type development. <br /> <br />Places to Shop <br />Places to Shop include a range of neighborhood and community commercial/retail develop- <br />ment. <br /> <br />Mixed Use <br />Mixed Use may include a combination of residential, commercial, light industrial, open <br />space and a transit hub. <br /> <br />Parks and Open Space <br />Parks, Trails and Open Space include the City Park and trail system, golf courses, regional <br />parks, wetlands and the greenway. Lands in this category are intended to preserve the natu- <br />ral resource base and provide an adequate supply of active and passive recreational lands in <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />Public/Quas~public <br />This category generally includes city offices, public works facilities, churches, schools <br />other non-profit or government facilities, and bridges/major rights-of-way. <br /> <br />Rural Developing <br />Residential land outside of the MUSA that will receive single-family residential units at a <br />density of one lot per 2.5 acres. <br /> <br />Rural Preserve <br />Land located north of Trott Brook that is environmentally sensitive and that will be re- <br />stricted to single family residential units on lots being at least 10 acres in size. <br /> <br />Central Planning Area <br />Residential land located in the central part of the City that will be restricted to a minimum <br />lot size of 10 acres while the City conducts a study to determine the appropriate level of <br />development in this area. <br /> <br />Land Use Map Insert <br /> <br />
