~. ..

.

.

SUMMARY AND NEXT STEP
Brad Scheib summarized what was revealed by the exercise. Most of the groups were in
agreement regarding the ideas they liked. The environmental protection idea was the
only idea that revealed split preference. The next step in the process is for the consultants
to summarize this meeting and condense the ideas into one concept that best represents a
shared vision for the future community. The concepts and results from the exercise will
be presented to the various boards and commission over the next few months and a rough
draft of the plan is anticipated to be available by the end of June at which time a public
hearing will be had to review the plan. When the plan is completed it will be sent to
adjacent communities for comment and review. Brad indicated that no dates have been
established for the future meetings but participants were encouraged to follow the local
newspaper and city newsletter for future meeting dates.

CLOSING COMMENTS
A participant inquired as to how existing roadways would be treated under the plan and
how the maintenance and improvement of existing roadways would get done while trying
to achieve the ideas within the plan. Brad indicated that the plan will establish criteria for
roadways including maintenance and that future funding will be set out in the Capital
Improvement Program prepared by the City.

Mayor Gamec thanked the participants for coming out and provided a brief update to
current activities in town including the Highway 47 project.

Brad indicated that there will be a meeting to focus on the Mississippi River Corridor
which will result in a plan for the Mississippi National River Recreation Area, and
incorporated into the Comprehensive Plan. Brad encouraged everyone to attend this
meeting on April 30th at Ramsey Elementary School.

Brad also indicated that the concepts will be on display at City Hall for viewing since not
all participants were able to attend the meeting. The display will only last for two weeks.

Following some closing comments by the participants the meeting was adjourned around
9:30 p.m.

Concept Review Session

Hoisington Koegler Group, Inc

Page 60f6
