Gat:8ways Gateways begin to tell us about Ramsey, its identity and its history. They are located at key entrances to the community, Gateways signify when a traveler on Highway 10 has entered Ramsey. The appearance of a gateway can vary from a simple stand of oaks to streets cape designs to a monument sign. 5hoppin'l Nodes Shopping nodes contain convenient shopping areas, which serve the basic needs of Ramsey residents as well as those who are passing through. R.ecreatioJ1sJ Areas Recreational parks include areas with high use and activity primarily focused on athletics and exercise. Some of the more prominent areas include the golf courses and Central Park. Many smaller neighborhood parks also provide recreational activities. 5csnic Roadwa.vs Some stretches of roadway in Ramsey provide opportunities for scenic vistas that preserve the rural character of the community. An overlay district that designates roadways as having significant scenic values would apply design and planning prinoiples to preserve the rural character of the community. Parkways Parkways can provide an identity to a city or area and still allow efficient and safe traffic flow. They can provide connections between focal points within the community and can safely combine trail corridors within the road right of way. Parkways would act as collectors relieving some residential streets of heavy traffic attempting to cross the community in an east and west direction. R8creatiol11l1 Trail Recreational trails connect the various focal points of the community such as the Mississippi River. the Rum River, Trott Brook and the Town Center.
